35mm Photography: The Basics

 

       

 

Course Outline

 

      The basics can be learned in about 3 sessions.  Each session is about 3 hours.   Digital images will be used to teach concepts and reinforce the material in the lectures.  Time will be taken during each session to answer any questions that may arise; this is to assure that you understand the material in the course.  Our classes are one-on-one so we can easily answer all of your questions and cover anything you want.  You get to gear the class to exactly what you want to learn.  The lesson plan below is a basic guide to the concepts taught.

  • Course Overview

  • Basic Functions of a Camera

  • Shutter Speed

  • Aperture/F Stop

  • Exposure

  • Histograms

 Lesson 2

  • Exposure cont.

  • General Rules of Composition (What makes a  good photograph good)

  • Depth of Field

 Lesson 3

  • Filters

  • Lenses

  • Flash

  • Review

  • Answer Questions (cameras, films, etc., what camera should I buy?)
